Olivewood & Blue Resin Sculptural Platter

A wide, low closed-form hollow vessel turned from a single block of curly maple. The form is quiet and decisive: 11.5 inches across, four inches tall, with a 3.25-inch opening drawn at the top center. The proportions read as both still and architectural, asking to be circled and looked at from every angle.

The curly figure runs across the surface in soft, parallel bands, catching the light differently as the piece turns. Honey-warm tones give way to pale sapwood along the wider arcs, and threads of early spalting trace the surface where the timber met its weather. The figure is dense without being noisy. The spalting is restrained, a record of time rather than a feature, holding the piece somewhere between still life and landscape.

A matte satin finish keeps the surface tactile and the wood in charge. There is no gloss to compete with the curl. The vessel reads as sculpture first and object second, with the kind of presence that holds a quiet center on a console, a coffee table, or a low shelf. Made to be lived with. One of a kind.

Dimensions (W x H): 11.5 × 4 in., with a 13.25 in. opening
