Walnut and Banksia Vessel with Blue and Purple Epoxy

A small hollow vessel turned from walnut, banksia nut, and red and blue epoxy. Warm walnut forms the rolled rim and the base, and between them the banksia nut opens into rows of oval seed cavities, each one filled with deep blue. Below, the two epoxy colors blend into a smoky purple that drifts across the lower body.

The form tapers gently from shoulder to foot, with a fine incised line just below the rim. A matte, buffed wax finish keeps the surface soft to the touch and lets the wood, pod, and resin read as one piece. At 4 inches tall, it is a quiet object for a desk or shelf, best seen up close.

Dimensions (W x H): 2 x 4 in.
