Nagare comes from the Japanese word for flow, stream, or current - an ongoing sense of movement and change. I wanted a work suspended between solidity and motion.

This piece is a woodturning - shaped on the lathe from olivewood and blue-pigmented resin, then finished as a sculptural object intended for display. Wood carries its own history through grain, fracture, and change. My role is not to correct those things but to work with them. I don't erase scars; I reveal them. By removing what is unnecessary, I let the integrity of the material come forward.

The olivewood carries warmth, figure, and the visible record of natural life. The blue moves through it as an atmospheric presence - suggesting water, depth, continuous change. It's not decoration. It acts as a current within the form, a dialogue between what is grounded and what feels open.

I hope the piece invites the viewer to slow down and reflect on the quiet force of natural movement.
